We have assembled a team of experts from across the country to drive our Mission and Vision with grit and determination. Meet the people who aren’t only talented and experienced, they’re also nice to be around too.

Charlie is responsible for the strategic direction and execution of Broad River Retail, the largest independently owned and operated licensee of Ashley HomeStores in the United States. Charlie joined Broad River in May 2005 as Managing Partner and Chief Operating Officer. After serving as COO for 10 years, he was promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer in June 2015.
In June 2018, Charlie acquired majority ownership of Broad River Retail when he, Manny Rodrigues, and Charlie Workmon purchased 100% of the Company.
As President and CEO, Charlie has the distinct privilege and honor of leading a highly talented and experienced senior management team that has consistently delivered premier financial results by furnishing life’s best memories.
Charlie has been an active contributor in the home furnishings industry by serving on various boards and committees as well as speaking at several industry events. Charlie has also served on many committees within the Ashley HomeStore network lending his time to critical initiatives such as e-commerce, marketing, and supply chain.
Charlie is active in community philanthropy and enjoys giving back. Since its inception, he has served on the Board of Directors for nonprofit Beds for Kids and was the Board Chairman for four years. The Charlotte Hornets awarded Charlie with the Community Playmaker Award in February 2018 for his work in the Charlotte community.
Prior to joining Broad River Retail, Charlie sold D2 Interactive, a web development and ebusiness services firm with offices in Jackson and Oxford, Miss., that he had founded in March 2000.
Today, Charlie and his wife Kelli are the proud parents of Drew and Luke and attend New City Church in Charlotte.

Manny Rodrigues is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Broad River Retail, the largest independently owned and operated licensee of Ashley HomeStores in the United States. Manny joined Broad River in 2014 as the Director of Talent Acquisition.
Manny was promoted to Senior Director of Human Capital in July 2015, then to Vice President of Human Capital in August 2017. In 2017, Manny became a shareholder in Broad River. In June 2018, Manny joined business partners Charlie Malouf and Charlie Workmon in purchasing 100% of the company.
As COO, Manny focuses on driving a high performance culture that allows Broad River to prosper in a rapidly changing and highly competitive retail environment. Manny oversees the Company’s people strategies and is directly responsible for the following departments - Operations, Customer Care, Merchandising, Visual Impact, Supply Chain, and Human Capital.
Prior to joining Broad River, Manny led Human Resources organizations at Liberty Mutual Insurance, Bank of America and Enterprise Rent A Car. A native of Rhode Island, Manny moved to Charlotte, NC in 2003 as a key member of the Johnson & Wales University team. As their Director of International Relations, Manny traveled to over 30 countries establishing relationship and educational partnerships with the University. Manny received his undergraduate degree in International Business and Finance from Johnson & Wales University, Providence Campus. He studied Economics at the University of Milan, Italy and is multilingual. In 2009, Manny was inducted into the Johnson & Wales University, College of Business Hall of Fame for his success and leadership in the Human Resources field.
Manny and his wife Graylynn attend New City Church and have been happily married since 2008. They are proud parents of James and John Wells. Manny enjoys sports and reading. He is a fan of New England sports teams, Chelsea FC and USA/Portugal National soccer teams.

Charlie Workmon is responsible for the strategic development and execution of Broad River Retail’s Operations with a focus on developing a premier delivery experience and increasing distribution capacity within our highly competitive retail markets.
Charlie joined Broad River Retail in January 2015 as Senior Director of Delivery and Distribution, bringing with him best practices in last mile, heavy goods delivery gleaned from over 20 years of diverse experience with retailers and manufacturers.
In August 2015, Charlie was promoted to Vice President of Operations where he led the move of Broad River Retail’s operation to a new Distribution Center in Fort Mill, South Carolina, and led the implementation of numerous strategic initiatives that resulted in improvements throughout the department.
In January 2017, in addition to becoming a shareholder, Charlie was promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations as he continued to lead the department to support premier financial results and continuous improvement across key performance metrics.
In November 2017, along with business partners Charlie Malouf and Manny Rodrigues, Charlie founded Riverstone Logistics where he serves as its President. Riverstone Logistics is a last mile freight forwarder that facilitates deliveries on behalf of Broad River Retail.
In June 2018, Charlie joined Charlie Malouf and Manny Rodrigues in acquiring 100% of Broad River Retail and was then promoted to Executive Vice President, Operations and Supply Chain.
As Executive Vice President, Charlie has the honor of leading a talented and experienced operations team that has the privilege of delivering home and furnishing life’s best memories to our customers.
Charlie grew up in the home delivery space, performing home and commercial deliveries as a teenager, working dispatch offices during college breaks, interning for three major logistics companies, managing regional delivery networks, and engineering last-mile client solutions. Prior to joining Broad River Retail, Charlie served as Director of Business Development for XPO Last Mile where he engineered and sold multimillion dollar last mile delivery solutions to retailers and manufacturers.
Charlie studied at the University of Mississippi. He enjoys the outdoors, reading and is an Atlanta sports fan. He and his wife Courtney have been happily married since 2005 and are the proud parents of Kate, Lucy, Sam, Ellie, Molly and Joe. Charlie and his family attend Forest Hill Church in Charlotte.

As VP of Retail Performance, Christian Adams is responsible for driving sales at Broad River Retail with a focus on establishing consistent processes, creating a learning culture, and setting new standards of performance. With over 20 years of both regional and national big box retail leadership experience, Christian brings the knowledge and passion for people that is needed for our strategic growth.
He began on the sales floor 23 years ago selling electronics on commission in California. He steadily moved his way across the country, working for some of the best regional retailers and the largest electronics retailer in the US. He has specialized in process implementation, sales strategy, and multiunit leadership, which has prepared him for leadership roles with companies during times of significant growth and change. Prior to joining Broad River he worked with Conn’s Home Plus and opening 13 stores in the Carolinas and Georgia.
Christian and his wife, Jodee, have been happily married since 2010. He loves painting, reading, spending time outdoors, and meditation. Recently, he joined the Artists Music Guild Board to support artists and educating the community.

Bill started with Broad River Retail in June 2015. He is a CMA (Certified Management Accountant) and received his undergraduate degree with a major in accounting at Bryant University in Rhode Island.
Having spent his career in start-ups, high growth companies, realignments, turnarounds and a number of mergers and acquisitions, he is recognized as a change agent in the finance area.
Bill began his career in Boston in high-tech, biotech and telecommunication industries with such companies as Baird Corporation, Behring Diagnostics and Telco Systems. Upon moving to Charlotte in 2002, he was CFO for CloverTex and Ultra Machine before embarking on consulting roles with Duke Energy and Polymer Group Inc. for post transactional work.

Harold oversees all aspects of Technology and Business Intelligence for Broad River Retail. Prior to joining Broad River, he spent several years working for multiple startup companies as well as running his own digital media metrics company. He has spent the majority of his career managing technology and operations for several newspaper companies. Harold brings a passion for leveraging technology to empower people, streamline operations and grow the business.
A native of Wichita, Kansas, Harold has a B.S. in Business Administration from Wichita State University. After having lived in several places around the country, he and his wife, Debbie, moved to Charlotte in 2001. Both enjoy their beach time and are huge baseball fans.

Steve joined Broad River Retail in May 2012 as a Controller and was promoted in 2016 to Director of Financial Planning and Analysis.
In addition to a background in public accounting, Steve’s experience includes 25 years in the Woodworking Machinery business in Financial and Management leadership positions. Along with a wealth of experience, Steve also brings a real sense of enthusiasm to his work.
Steve was attracted to Broad River Retail by our World Class Strategy, Core Values and Customer Beliefs. “I could feel the positive company culture when I interviewed, and the people at Broad River Retail are outstanding and impressive.”
A native of Steubenville, Ohio, Steve graduated with honors from West Virginia University with a degree in Business Administration and attended post graduate classes at Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh. Steve and his wife, Cindy, live in Charlotte and are the parents of three grown children. In his free time, Steve enjoys walking his dog, sports, and traveling.
